LegalEagle Sues Honey in Lawsuit: Seeking to Take Down Company
Legal Eagle, a popular YouTuber and attorney, is taking a stand against Honey in a class-action lawsuit that aims to recover allegedly stolen money from creators. The lawsuit was sparked by MegaLag’s exposé on December 22, 2024, which accused Honey of unfairly profiting from both consumers and creators.
According to allegations, Honey replaced creators’ affiliate codes with its own, essentially taking the money from affiliate sales for themselves. Additionally, the company allegedly manipulated coupon offerings to users, undermining their promise of providing the best deal. This practice also resulted in overwriting sponsor-issued affiliate links with Honey’s links, depriving creators of their rightful earnings.
Legal Eagle and other attorneys were moved by the video and decided to take legal action against Honey to seek justice for creators. Legal Eagle strongly condemned Honey’s actions, labeling their business practices as “insidious” and suggesting that creators may have lost billions of dollars as a result.
In response, Legal Eagle initiated a class-action lawsuit to hold Honey accountable for their alleged misconduct and recover the money that was taken. The goal is not only to compensate affected creators and businesses but also to prevent similar occurrences in the future with coupon affiliation apps.
Legal Eagle emphasized the importance of this lawsuit in safeguarding creators’ rights and ensuring fair practices in the industry. He called for a halt to Honey’s actions and encouraged those affected to join the class-action suit through the website honeylawsuit.com.
The lawsuit, known as Wendover Productions, LLC v. PayPal Inc, addresses the impact of affiliate link manipulation by big tech companies like Honey. It seeks to address the harm caused to creators and businesses and obtain restitution for the money that was allegedly diverted from them.
