Cheniere: Corpus Christi Stage 3 Project Successfully Produces First LNG
Today, Cheniere Energy, Inc. made an exciting announcement about their Corpus Christi Stage 3 Liquefaction Project. They successfully produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) for the first time from Train 1. The commissioning process is ongoing, and they anticipate train completion by the end of the first quarter of 2025, well ahead of schedule.
Back in June 2022, Cheniere gave Bechtel Energy, Inc. the green light to kick off the project. This project includes seven midscale trains and is expected to have a production capacity exceeding 10 million tonnes per annum of LNG. As of November 30, 2024, the project is almost 76% complete, with engineering at 96.8%, procurement at 97.2%, subcontract work at 87.7%, and construction at 39.2%.
Once all seven trains are up and running, the total production capacity of the Corpus Christi facility will exceed 25 million tonnes per annum of LNG.
