Public Notice 9199: Important Announcement for Torrington Residents
The Goshen County Board of County Commissioners met on December 17, 2024, to take care of business in a regular session. Chairman Michael McNamee, Vice-Chairman Justin Burkart, Commissioner Aaron Walsh, and County Clerk Mary Feagler were all in attendance. The meeting started off with the Pledge of Allegiance, setting a patriotic tone. Commissioner Walsh kicked things off by getting the agenda and the minutes from the December 3rd meeting approved, which passed smoothly.
Sheriff Kory Fleenor didn’t make it to present the Sheriff’s Office earnings report and Commissary report in person, but the info was still shared at the meeting. In November, the Sheriff’s Office brought in $1,575.00 in earnings, and the Commissary made $9,321.56. Commissioner Walsh made the motion to accept these reports, and it passed without issue.
Road Superintendent Chris Stoddard gave an update on the Road & Bridge report and presented the Vann Subdivision, a twenty-one acre plat, for approval. The chairman signed off on the map, and it was officially approved. County Commissioner Walsh also moved successfully to accept the Road and Bridge report.
County Clerk Mary Feagler then shared the Clerk’s report, including the update on warrant reports, payroll liabilities, and a midmonth voucher for The Cincinnati Insurance premium. Commissioner Walsh once again made the move to accept these reports, and it was a done deal.
Fire Warden Thom Bozeman updated the Commissioners on the current fire ban situation. Goshen County is in a Stage I Fire Ban, and he recommended keeping it that way since there isn’t any rain in sight for the next couple of weeks. The report was accepted without any issues.
Maintenance Supervisor Kevin Flock reported on the control panel project and mentioned that there were additional valves needing replacement beyond the original quote. The bid price may go up to $11,000 depending on how the job progresses. Commissioner Walsh moved to accept the Court House Maintenance report, and it sailed through.
The meeting wrapped up with an executive session at 9:40 am and adjourned at 11:20 am. The next regular meeting is scheduled for January 7th, so mark your calendars if you want to stay in the loop.
