Charlotte Tilbury Privacy Class-Action Settlement: Check If You Qualify
Illinois residents who have interacted with Charlotte Tilbury, the popular beauty brand, in recent years could be entitled to receive money from a substantial settlement. Charlotte Tilbury is dishing out almost $3 million to individuals affected by a lawsuit that claimed the company violated Illinois privacy laws.
Charlotte Tilbury, a UK-based beauty brand established in 2013 by a businesswoman bearing the same name, has experienced significant success, boasting revenue close to £450 million ($560 million) in 2023. The brand’s products are widely available in 76 countries worldwide. However, its operations in the US led to legal action.
In September, Charlotte Tilbury agreed to pay $2.925 million to settle a class-action lawsuit. The lawsuit accused the company of breaching biometric privacy laws in Illinois by retaining customer data from online “try-on” tools without proper consent.
If you’ve done business with Charlotte Tilbury and reside in Illinois, you may be eligible for compensation from this settlement, but act fast – the deadline is approaching with the new year. The class-action lawsuit covers individuals who used Charlotte Tilbury’s virtual try-on tools between December 1, 2019, and August 31, 2023, in Illinois.
The estimated payouts from this settlement can range from $700 to $1,100 depending on the number of participants. To make a claim, you need to submit a valid claim form by January 2, 2025. Remember, Charlotte Tilbury has made no admission of guilt in this case.
