Are you eligible for any of January’s class action settlements? Ten settlements are currently accepting claims, offering consumers the opportunity to receive payments for privacy violations, data breaches, fees, and more.

One of the settlements involves Patreon, which has agreed to pay $7.25 million to resolve claims that it shared user information without consent. If you requested or obtained videos on Patreon and had both a Facebook account and a Patreon account between April 1, 2016, and Sept. 23, 2024, you may be eligible for this settlement. According to the lawsuit, Patreon used Metal Pixel tracking to monitor user video-viewing preferences in violation of the federal Video Privacy Protection Act. The deadline to file a claim is Jan. 1, 2025.

If you’re not eligible for these settlements, there are other ways to increase your income this month. Consider participating in some of our favorite ways to make extra cash:

Another settlement involves Charlotte Tilbury, which has agreed to pay $2.925 million to resolve claims that its website’s features collected biometric information without consent. This settlement benefits consumers who used a beauty technology or virtual try-on tool on the Charlotte Tilbury website or mobile app in Illinois between Dec. 1, 2019, and Aug. 31, 2023. Plaintiffs claim that Charlotte Tilbury violated Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act by collecting facial geometry scans through its virtual beauty tools. The deadline to file a claim is Jan. 2, 2025.

Luxottica has agreed to pay $250,000 to resolve claims that it failed to protect consumers from a 2020 data breach. This settlement benefits individuals whose personal information may have been exposed in the breach between Aug. 5-Aug. 9, 2020. The lawsuit alleges that the eyewear retailer did not implement adequate cybersecurity measures to prevent the breach, compromising sensitive identifiers such as Social Security numbers, financial data, and health information. The deadline to file a claim is Jan. 2, 2025.

If you believe you are eligible for any of these settlements, be sure to file a claim before the designated deadlines. These settlements present an opportunity for affected consumers to receive compensation for privacy violations, data breaches, and other related issues.
