First Half of 2025 Cable M&A Predictions
There’s been a lot of talk about the upcoming M&A activity in Hollywood next year, and for good reason. With new leadership in the White House, changes at the F.T.C., and big moves from companies like Comcast and Warner Bros. Discovery, it’s an exciting time in the industry.
One of the most anticipated deals is the acquisition of Paramount Global by the Ellisons and Gerry Cardinale, expected to close in the second quarter of 2025. After that, we may see some interesting developments like a linear roll-up or other strategic plays.
As for SpinCo, Comcast’s new venture set to include brands like MSNBC and CNBC, there’s been some buzz about its capital structure and governance. Comcast has made it clear that they won’t be teaming up with private equity firms on this project and that SpinCo won’t be taking on too much debt. While I have my doubts, we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out.
It’s an exciting time in the world of finance and securities, with big moves on the horizon in Hollywood. Stay tuned for more updates as these deals take shape.
