On December 3, 2024, the Egyptian President passed Law No. 160 of 2024, allowing tax disputes between the Egyptian Tax Authority and taxpayers to be resolved through Dispute Resolving Committees. These committees, set up by the Egyptian Ministry of Finance, review taxpayer requests to settle tax disputes that are being handled in Egyptian courts or tax appeal committees. Their tenure has now been extended until June 30, 2025.

This law extension provides Egyptian taxpayers with a chance to adhere to tax regulations, showcasing Egypt’s dedication to reducing tax burdens, simplifying tax compliance, and refining tax policies and procedures in the country. It’s an opportunity for taxpayers to engage with the system effectively and responsibly, ensuring a smoother tax process for all involved.
