Big Lots Store Closures: What You Need to Know

Big news for Jamestown residents and bargain hunters everywhere: Big Lots is closing all of its stores. Yep, you read that right. The store even has a big banner on its website announcing the closure. If you’re a Big Lots fan, this might come as a shock since just a few months ago, they were talking about a bankruptcy sale to save the company. Unfortunately, that deal fell through. But don’t worry, the company is still looking for a buyer while they start the process of shutting down their stores. Although it’s a tough decision, Big Lots wants to protect the value of their business as they go through this process.

The good news is that you can still shop at Big Lots in person and online while they figure things out. So, if you’re in the middle of a home makeover or just love their quirky finds, you can still snag a deal.

On the bright side, Big Lots isn’t disappearing overnight. They’ve been around for a while, with the Jamestown store opening back in 1995. It’s had a few different lives, like when it used to be a Quality Markets store. The building sat empty for a couple of years before Big Lots moved in.

It’s a bummer to see stores like Big Lots close, especially when they’ve been a part of our community for so long. But we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for this retail giant. So, keep an eye out for those going out of business sales if you want to snag some last-minute deals.
