Furthermore, Tim Christensen, an Iowa State University Extension farm management specialist, will be discussing methods of managing stress related to farming, while Kristine Tidgren, an associate professor and director of the Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation at Iowa State University, will be tackling the crucial topic of farm succession planning.
The primary focus of these meetings will be to equip attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the farm economy and the key concerns to monitor in the upcoming year. Valuable resources and tools will be shared to assist farmers in managing risks, maintaining a positive outlook amidst challenging circumstances, and emphasizing the importance of proactive planning, not just for the immediate future but for the sustained legacy of their family farm for years to come.
According to Zach Brummer, “Farmers understand the uncertainties in agriculture all too well. This workshop series aims to provide them with up-to-date information and strategies to navigate current realities and lay the groundwork for upcoming changes, especially amid shifts in administration.”
