Rajasthan Congress Protest Against BJP Over Adani Issue
The Congress in Rajasthan took to the streets in Jaipur to voice their concerns about the Adani issue and criticized the BJP government on various fronts. PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot, former deputy CM Sachin Pilot, and other leaders spoke out against the government at the Shaheed Smarak in Jaipur, rallying party members to join a march to the Raj Bhavan. Unfortunately, their plans were thwarted by the police, who used water cannons and barricades to stop the protest.
Dotasra highlighted serious allegations made against industrialist Adani by the US, implicating corruption, fraud, and deceit. These accusations have shed light on disturbing reports of bribery, money laundering, and market manipulation that reflect poorly on Indian business and finance. Dotasra criticized the central government for avoiding discussions on these matters in Parliament and remaining silent on the issue.
Former CM Ashok Gehlot did not mince words, calling RSS and BJP leaders “fascists” and questioning their commitment to democracy. He accused them of engaging in the politics of religion and misleading the public. Similarly, former deputy CM Sachin Pilot accused the BJP government in Rajasthan of being unproductive, claiming no significant work had been accomplished in a year. Despite these challenges, Pilot expressed confidence in the unity of Congress leaders and their ability to form the next government in the state.
