Nationwide Protest March Scheduled by Congress on Dec 18
The Congress party has announced a protest march to Raj Bhawan across the country on December 18 in response to allegations made by the US Justice Department against Gautam Adani and his associates. Mathura Dutt Joshi, Vice-president of Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC-Organisation), shared that the march aims to protest against the alleged corruption, fraud, and deceit of the BJP-Adani alliance.
In Uttarakhand, the PCC committee’s march is scheduled to start at 10.30 am from the State Congress Office to the Raj Bhawan. State Congress president Karan Mahara will lead the protest here. Joshi claimed that these allegations confirm what the Congress party has already alleged and expose a pattern of bribery, money laundering, and market manipulation.
He expressed concerns about the impact on India’s corporate governance and regulatory oversight due to these allegations. Joshi also criticized the Modi government for blocking Parliamentary discussions on the Gautam Adani corruption case and for its silence on the issue, which he interpreted as evading responsibility and accountability.
Additionally, Joshi highlighted the ongoing crisis in Manipur, where violence, firing, curfews, and chaos continue, leading to loss of lives. He criticized the government for failing to effectively manage the situation.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has decided to organize Raj Bhawan rallies nationwide in response to these issues. The protest march in Dehradun is expected to see participation from senior party leaders, MLAs, former MLAs, Assembly candidates, AICC and PCC members, affiliated organizations, department and cell presidents, state Congress officials, and district, metropolitan, block, and city presidents, along with a large number of workers.
