McClatchy completes merger with Accelerate360 – 12/16/2024
McClatchy recently completed its merger with accelerate360, forming a new entity called McClatchy Media Company (MMC). This new company boasts reaching 100 million unique visitors per month. The merger, announced back in August, brings together McClatchy’s 30 news products like The Miami Herald and The Sacramento Bee, with accelerate360’s lifestyle brands such as Us Weekly and Soap Opera Digest.
According to Tony Hunter, chairman and CEO of MMC, this merger opens up numerous opportunities to expand their digital platform, offer more original content to consumers, and provide targeted audience access to their marketing partners. With a distribution network covering over 56,000 retail locations in North America, the possibilities are endless.
In addition to Hunter, the MMC leadership team includes Billie McConkey as the chief administrative officer and chief legal officer, Chuck Howell as the president and COO of McClatchy Retail Network, Jeffrey Dorsey as the COO, Robyn Tomlin as the chief content officer, Stephanie Zarate as the chief accounting officer and treasurer, and Tony Berg as the chief revenue officer.
