2025 Subaru Forester Sport Heated Seats Review: A Disappointing Experience
Donna recently purchased a 2025 Subaru Forester, and one of the main features she was excited about were the heated seats. However, upon trying them out, she found they didn’t get as warm as she expected. She reached out to Subaru to express her disappointment and was told that the seats are designed to only heat up to 90 degrees as a safety feature. Donna found this explanation unsatisfactory, given that she could barely feel the heat even on the highest setting.
Imagine getting a new car and being thrilled about having heated seats, only to find they don’t warm up enough on a cold morning. That’s exactly the situation Donna found herself in. She shared her frustrating experience with me in an email, detailing her disappointment in the heated seats of her Forester Sport.
Donna’s initial email to me expressed her frustration with the situation. She mentioned that Subaru had told her there was no fix for the issue. In an effort to help Donna, I reached out to Aaron Cole at Subaru of America to get more information. He explained that the temperature of the heated seats can vary based on different factors, but the thermistor cycles off when it reaches around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. However, he did not provide further clarification on why the 2025 Forester’s seats only reach 90 degrees.
Donna further pursued the issue by filing a complaint with Subaru of America’s customer support. Unfortunately, the response she received reiterated that the 90-degree limit was a safety concern and could not be adjusted. Donna was understandably dissatisfied with this explanation and expressed her frustration at not being able to enjoy the comfort of properly heated seats in her new car.
Despite efforts to seek resolution, Donna continues to await a solution for her Forester Sport’s heated seats. It’s clear that the current temperature limit of 90 degrees falls short of her expectations. The 100-degree temperature limit in the previous generation Forester’s seats would have been more comfortable for her, and the reduction to 90 degrees in the 2025 model has left her feeling disappointed.
The issue with the heated seats in the 2025 Subaru Forester has highlighted a discrepancy in customer expectations and the manufacturer’s safety considerations. Hopefully, Subaru will address this concern to ensure customer satisfaction and comfort moving forward.
