Former Securities and Exchange Commission Officer Joins Gibson Dunn
Global law firm Gibson Dunn has recently welcomed Osman Nawaz, a former officer at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as a new partner in its New York office. Nawaz brings with him a wealth of experience in securities enforcement and white-collar defense.
During his time at the SEC, Nawaz worked on a variety of cases related to market manipulation, regulatory issues, and fraud, among others. He led complex investigations across the United States and was in charge of the complex financial instruments unit. This unit focused on intricate products and trading, showcasing Nawaz’s expertise in the field.
Nawaz expressed his excitement about joining Gibson Dunn, citing the firm’s stellar reputation in litigation and securities enforcement. He looks forward to assisting clients with civil litigation, investigations, enforcement actions, and compliance matters.
