Tim Barry, the CEO and co-founder of VillageMD, has decided to step down from his positions as CEO and board chair. In his place, Jim Murray, the Chief Operations Officer of VillageMD, will be taking on the role of Interim CEO.

This change was confirmed by Molly Lynch, a VillageMD spokesperson, who provided a statement saying, “Tim Barry has stepped down as CEO and Board Chair. The Board has appointed VillageMD Chief Operations Officer Jim Murray to serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Effective immediately, Murray assumes day-to-day leadership responsibilities to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of care. VillageMD reaffirms its commitment to providing high-quality, accessible health care services for individuals and communities across the United States.”

Tim Barry founded VillageMD back in 2013. In recent news, there have been discussions about Walgreens Boots Alliance exploring options for VillageMD, particularly looking into the possibility of selling all or part of the VillageMD businesses, according to an SEC filing in August.

This change in leadership at VillageMD comes at a pivotal time, and we look forward to seeing how Jim Murray leads the company during this transitional period. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
