Sarepta Therapeutics General Counsel Resigns: Governance Update
Sarepta Therapeutics recently announced a change in leadership as Ryan Brown steps down from his role as executive vice president and chief general counsel. According to an SEC filing from the company, Cristin Rothfuss, the senior vice president and deputy general counsel, will succeed Brown in this position. Brown will continue to support the transition as a non-executive employee until around May 9, 2025.
Brown has been with Sarepta since February 2018, initially serving as vice president, global chief compliance officer and regulatory counsel before taking on the role of general counsel in February 2021. In his position, he oversaw the company’s legal and compliance functions. Prior to his time at Sarepta, Brown held roles at ACADIA Pharmaceuticals, Allergan, and Jones Day.
Rothfuss, who joined Sarepta in 2018 as executive director for corporate transactions, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Her background includes positions at Harvard University, where she was involved in institutional initiatives and technology transactions. Rothfuss also has experience working at law firms Bernstein, Cushner & Kimmell and Ivey, Barnum & O’Mara.
