John Deere to Lay Off 100+ Workers in Waterloo Plant
John Deere is facing tough times in eastern Iowa as they announce a layoff affecting more than 100 workers at the Waterloo Works plant in January. This news comes after a year of layoffs at other John Deere plants in the area, impacting hundreds of jobs. In a statement released on Tuesday, John Deere emphasized the need to make workforce adjustments to stay globally competitive. Approximately 110 production employees at the Waterloo Operations will be placed on indefinite layoff starting on Jan. 3.
