The event was a great opportunity for us to come together, share insights, and discuss the current state and future of the exchange industry.
During the first day of the event, we had a valuable joint dialogue with senior regulators and leaders from various exchanges. Over 100 regulators, including representatives from the Securities Commission Malaysia, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand, engaged in discussions on emerging issues and the importance of global collaboration in capital markets. Key topics included the relationship between private and public markets, the roles of regulators and exchanges in promoting sustainable finance, and the impact of evolving technologies on market structure.
On the second day, the WFE held its 63rd General Assembly, where seven Directors of the Board were elected to serve for a three-year term. The newly elected directors come from prominent institutions such as B3, Borsa Istanbul, Nasdaq, and the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd, among others. The conference opened with a warm welcome from the CEO of the WFE, Nandini Sukumar, who expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their participation. The Special Address by the Prime Minister of Malaysia highlighted the country’s economic growth and the importance of capital market leaders in shaping business and society.
