During a recent interview, Rep. Dan Crenshaw from Texas shared his thoughts on a proposed bill that would prohibit lawmakers and their spouses from trading stocks. At first, Crenshaw expressed some frustration, jokingly saying, “Sure, yeah, why not? Don’t let us trade stocks. We’ll just keep whipping ourselves.” However, he eventually revealed that he would support the ban.

Crenshaw emphasized that this issue wasn’t high on his priority list, calling it “stupid” and revealing that he hasn’t had much money in the stock market. He even mentioned sending a letter to Fox News after feeling defamed due to insinuations about insider trading that he claims are false.

While discussing potential scenarios where the bill might apply, Crenshaw brought up Nancy Pelosi’s trading practices as an example. Despite this, he couldn’t think of anyone else to whom the bill would be relevant. He humorously mused, “Let’s make Congress a place where only the millionaires can actually afford to do the job. This is a wonderful idea. Let’s just keep doing that.”

In conclusion, Crenshaw reiterated that he would vote in favor of the ban, sarcastically commenting, “Who cares. It doesn’t matter to me because I don’t have any money to put in the stock market unlike the headlines that have been written about me.”
