Porsche Settlement for Class Action Lawsuit Regarding Sunroof Leaks
Porsche Settles Class Action Lawsuit Over Alleged Sunroof Leaks
Porsche Cars North America has reached a settlement in a class action lawsuit regarding sunroof leaks in certain vehicle models. The alleged defect caused water to leak into the interior of the vehicles.
The settlement covers individuals and entities who purchased or leased a 2015-2023 model year Cayenne or Macan vehicle, or a 2014-2023 model year Panamera vehicle with a sunroof. These vehicles were imported by Porsche Cars North America for sale or lease in the United States.
If you own one of the affected vehicles, you may be eligible for reimbursement for repair and replacement costs related to the sunroof issue. Claims must be submitted by mail and postmarked by February 4, 2025. You can find the claim form on the official settlement website at SunroofDrainSettlement.com.
To qualify for reimbursement, you will need to provide documentation showing proof of repair expenses before November 6, 2024, and complete a related affidavit if necessary. Additionally, Porsche has agreed to extend the new car limited warranty for class vehicles to cover a percentage of the repair costs performed by an authorized Porsche dealer for up to six years or 80,000 miles from the initial in-service date.
The settlement also includes a provision for a free sunroof drain cleaning at an authorized Porsche dealer for a period of nine years or 90,000 miles from the in-service date of the vehicle. The court is scheduled to review the settlement for final approval in March 2025.
If you are a class member and your claim is valid, you can expect reimbursement after the settlement is finalized. Remember to stay up to date on current class action lawsuits and investigations by visiting ClassAction.org’s lawsuit list.
