Disney Will Pay $43M To Settle Pay Equity Class-Action Lawsuit – Deadline
Disney has finally settled the pay equity class-action lawsuit that has been hanging over the company for the past five years. The entertainment giant will be paying out $43.25 million to address the concerns of up to 14,000 eligible class members of female Disney employees from 2015 to the present. This news comes after a quietly reached settlement in October between Disney and the plaintiffs, represented by Lori Andrus. The case was set to go to trial in May 2025, but now a resolution has been reached for a much lower sum than the estimated $300 million. This deal will bring closure to a long-standing legal issue for Disney and may lead to changes in their pay equity practices.
