Canada Dry and Schweppes Ginger Ale Class Action Lawsuit: What You Need to Know

Keurig Dr Pepper owns two well-known carbonated beverage brands, Canada Dry and Schweppes, both of which offer a range of products, including ginger ale. Recently, there have been viral claims online about a class action lawsuit involving these brands.

Yes, there is indeed a class action lawsuit against Canada Dry and Schweppes. According to Top Class Actions and court records from Law360, a lawsuit was filed last month, alleging false advertising about artificial flavoring in the ginger ale soda bottles and cans sold under these brands.

In the lawsuit, it is claimed that although the products label “natural flavors” in its ingredient lists, the companies did not disclose the artificial flavors used, which is required by law. The plaintiff asserts that dl-malic acid was added to these drinks to mimic the taste of ginger ale, and argues that this should have been disclosed as artificial flavoring on the label.

As of now, Keurig Dr Pepper has not announced any settlements or payouts for those who purchased these products. Similar cases with other brands like Fanta and Coca Cola have been dismissed in the past.
