AECOM Joint Venture Engineering Services for Metro Vancouver’s Iona Island
AECOM, a global infrastructure leader, has announced a joint venture with Jacobs Consultancy Canada to provide preliminary engineering services for Metro Vancouver’s Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade. The Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant, established in 1963, serves around 750,000 residents and processes approximately 200 billion liters of wastewater annually. Through this upgrade, Metro Vancouver aims to improve water quality, support carbon neutrality objectives, and enhance climate resilience in the region. The joint venture will offer preliminary engineering services, including design and project planning oversight, to ensure significant and sustainable improvements to the treatment facilities with minimal environmental impact and increased operational efficiency.
